Tax Rate
Required Legal Notice of Adopted 2021 Tax Rate
Texas Tax Code section 26.05(b)(2) requires the District to post the following statement:
The Crowley Independent School District ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE LOWERED BY 3.62% AND WILL LOWER TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $55.70.
Note: The CISD Board of Trustees did NOT increase the maintenance and operations tax rate. The Board voted to lower the maintenance and operation tax rate from $1.0398 per $100 of property valuation for the 2020-2021 school year to $.9841 per $100 of property valuation for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
This change in the maintenance and operations tax rate is consistent with the House Bill 3 legislation passed in May, 2019 in the 86th Legislative Session. More tax revenue will be realized due to an increase in the overall property values as appraised by the Tarrant County Appraisal District and the Johnson County Appraisal District. -

The procedures set forth in this Activity Account Manual provide both administrative and accounting controls to safeguard assets and ensure reliability of financial records. By adhering to these internal controls, persons responsible for Activity Funds can help prevent the misappropriation of funds, violations of federal, state and local regulations, and acts of fraud or negligence.
